Even in the worst situations, credit repair should not take six months to a year. The only reason YOUR credit repair efforts should take more than six months, is if you are trying to BUILD credit and add POSITIVE ACCOUNTS/TRADELINES and to create age to your credit reports. I once removed 37 out of 41 negative items in a 41 day period. Some companies will bill you each every month and it SHOULD NOT take that long.
